The Vault of Vishnu
By Ashwin Sanghi
'The Vault of Vishnu' is written by an Indian thriller-mystery fiction writer Ashwin Sanghi. The book is released in Jan. 2020. It is divided into 100 parts and has 313 pages.
A young investigator Pam or Paramjit khurana, is a daughter of late colonel in the Indian army. On the backdrop of India-China current warfare at Doklam, Pam is appointed on the specific task by PM and highest authority of the army. At border China has attacked and killed a large number of Indian army personnel. Pam is asked to find out who the Chinese creature like soldiers are. And why they posses the strength & qualities like superhuman?
There are major two subplots with number of digressions. Pam's investigation leads her towards modern day Kanchipuram where Pallava inheritors have kept the three potions of urn. Her journey runs parallel with Xuanzang, a Chinese Buddhist monk's pilgrimage from 627 to 645 CE to Pallava kingdom Cambodia, to get the remaining third potion of urn. There she comes to know why Chinese soldier cum creatures have superhuman qualities.
And here, at the end with protagonist Pam, readers too get an actual clue of the story. At the end murder mystery of her father as well as who are heroes and villains of this story is also revelled.
Here is end of detailed narration of trivial incidents & too slow action, except last 100 pages. Though writer has been successful in creating realistic world, he fails to engage u in the story from the beginning. This story, being a blend of history, mythology, religion, physics, spirituality, thriller, mystery, politics etc. It seems writer has done a lot of research work to write this story.
